Hillary Clinton had just gotten caught having an affair with her secretary.So I cautiously read the 'old' message board to get a sense of what the heck was happening..then even more cautiously, I signed onto the 'new' message board. I have never seen so much chaos, so many women up in arms, the crying, the anger, the spewing of hostility. You would thought that they were just asked to give up their left boob, their first born (frankly, I think some would have given them up without a fight), or worse, their computer.
Some were threatening to leave the message boards all together (like that would happen), some threatened to never post at all on the 'new' one (ok, so they posted on the 'new' one to tell others that they weren't gonna post and then answered all that did post to let them know why
they weren't gonna post), some even posted that they were gonna give the 'new' board a chance, and some just didn't care as long as they could post.Some were upset that the 'new' board was hard to navigate through. Some posted that the 'blinkies' made the 'new' board look like a place of junk. Some posted that the 'new' board wasn't user-friendly. There were some that posted with great joy in the change. They liked the idea of being able to 'decorate' the board with their blinkies and stuff.
I remember reading back on the 'old' message board that some wanted to learn how to 'color' their posts. Now that they have the chance to do that with just a click of their mouse instead of writing the 3 mile long HTML code, they aren't happy.

I guess no one is happy with changes. Personally, I don't care. A message board is a message
board. You meet some nice women on them, form a relationship with them, bond...and someone throws in a wrench to throw them off kilter. Not fair. But then....sometimes, life isn't fair. All I can suggest is pick yourself up, dust off the seat of your pants, plant your feet firmly, and continue on lifes' journey.Well, I'm off to the message boards....to see if all the commotion has calmed down any.

I love your take on our MB. I like the people. I don't care if they make the board green and purple and you can only write like a 4 year old. It's the people I care about.

After your earlier posts, I am glad to see that you are finally posting something good.
I agree with you and your comments about the message board. Those people just need to get over it. They need to either stop their bitching and stop posting, or just stop logging onto it. In other words, they need to either piss or get off the pot.
Sorry for the bad time I gave you back then. I do enjoy your blog, and like everyone else says, you do speak your mind and aren't afraid, when others are. I applaud you for that. I just wish others can do that and still hold their head up like you have.
I think many of us would have made the change with far more ease had we not been repeately told over the past few days:
1. celebrate the new board and not say farewell to the old (and who made that person my personal activity director?)
2. "show how young you are, learn something new" (I am not young and learning something new will not change that and besides, I am very comfortable being as old as I am and having learned as much as I have)
3. "everybody needs to stop crying about the old mb going away" (ah, and now you want to tell me how to feel and what is appropriate) and this was from a self admitted "pure lurker".
4. to grow up and move on (ahem...?)
5. "get over it" (why not let everyone do and feel what they want?
It is statements like these that are playing a big part in the decisions of many to relocate rather than going to the new mb. I have given it a good try posting polls and getting to know you's but I will make up my own mind. So to those of you who feel you are qualified to dictate how I feel...you are not so back off!

Carol, I just love your blog. I love the way you so freely speak your mind and not care what anyone else thinks or says. You are very creative, and it shows through your work and your postings.
I saw your post on the other MB to Jules, and I saw her response. Who does she think she is telling you or anyone that this is not the place to discuss this? Yet, it is ok for her? And when you read more of her postings, you will see that she is doing exactly what everyone else is doing, except she is pointing fingers, something which I find you are not doing. You talk in general, she is talking directly. She must really like that soapbox, as she is always up on it, so high and mighty. Little does she know, that soon the mighty fall.

Hey there Carol. First off YOU RAWK!!! I think it is super hilarious that they just cannot make up their minds what the hell they want. Someone was saying the other day that they are unhappy about the little unsecure box they have to click on everytime they do the post. Well---it's because of the blinkies and they say, "It's Annoying" Yet they have all the blinkies under their names. HELLO!!! you are unhappy about something but yet you are the cause of the problem. Also I can see why they don't like it because you cannot hide. Tee hee. You cannot post under assumed names and people that were banned umpteen-millions of times ARE STILL BEING BANNED!!! What a riot. ANd I am still here. Tee hee. I never got banned...contrary to what people "want" to believe. I love it when people ask about me and they come up with all these ideas on why I am not there. NEWS FLASH!!! I have a life! I work! I don't sit at the MB 24/7! I have to say -I agree. Changes happen!! How many of these same people made complaints over and over again that they wanted the board to be changed -they were fed up about this little thing or that. How many of them demanded a gallery on the board. Okay -Here it is! And yet, people are still complaining about it.
SELENA the reason you no longer post at the CKMB, at least under your old name, is that you flaked on a bunch of swaps and were in fact accused of stealing. Right after all that came to light on the CKMB you dissappeared. I feel pretty confident you are still on the CKMB under a new identity. Talk about hiding under an assumed name!

WOW...he's ONE year old already. Gosh, time sure flies. He's gotten so big, no longer the infant...but a toddler. Vin must be a proud BIG BROTHER.

Geese...y'all are so full of yourselves that it is pure sadness that each and everyone of you base your life on a message board. You guys cannot get your kids out the door fast enough to school so that you can get to your computers and sit your happy butts down to see what drama has been going on in the past 8 hrs that y'all have been asleep.

I am flattered that you guys think that I am around so much to sit on my ass and read all your crap on the MB....And y'all say you "hate" me SO MUCH...but yet you cannot ever stop talking about me. So get your priorities in order (like maybe cleaning your house...pay your bills maybe...spend some quality time with your children...make that appt to have their shots updated...make dinner...or maybe just sit by a tree and read a good book) You will find that your life REALLY CAN go on without a MB being your everyday life support.
