Ok, I am hoping y'all read the last WORD OF THE MOMENT. I really like that word. TRUTHINESS That word says a lot, huh? Well, that is also the underlying statement behind my blog....TRUTHINESS. I do write the truth, except, I don't write ALL the facts. If I did, the story wouldn't be all that interesting, now would it?
So with all that said......here is a picture of a FACT, that will explain a recent entry onto my blog. Now, all you that posted something negative.....feel pretty stupid now, doncha ???
So LIGHTEN UP people......they are just words on a blog. You beleive EVERYTHING you read????

What a FANTASTIC Birthday.....
Sunday was my 50th birthday and what a day it was!! It started out very quiet, just the way I like it. I got breakfast served to me in bed by my hubby, the newspaper on the lap tray along with a few roses and a small little gift. I thought he had already given me my present, a nice .357 686 plus Smith & Wesson. I carefully opened it, and he picked out such darling earrings. I got a pair of birthstones w/a small diamond, and a pair of Red Hat Society earrings. Aren't they cute?
After I read the Sunday paper, and finished breakfast, it was off shopping. We shopped and shopped and shopped, and after a few hundred dollars of buying scrapping supplies, brass for the gun, a holster, a few pair of shoes, we decided to go to grocery shopping. Hit a GREAT sale on artichokes and t-bones, so of course, we HAD to buy 'em for dinner one night during the week, which happens to be tonight. After grocery shopping and coming home to put everything away, it was 'bout time for dinner. Hubby had made reservations at Black Angus for 6:30. We get to the restaurant, and we were immediately shown to our table and sat. There on the table were 50 red roses. I nearly died. Everyone was watching to see who was going to be seated there. I bet they all thought it was gonna be some celebrity, lol. JUST 'LIL 'OL ME. So we sat, and as I was looking at the menu, I noticed a bit of commotion to my left. I looked up and OMG, 4 waiters were standing there, with a total of 50 red and purple balloons. I looked over at my hubby, and he was just smiling. "I hope your day was great." Well, duh!! Of course it was!! I had a FANTASTIC day!!
Then I go to work on Monday, and OMG, the girls had fun decorating my cubicle. Everything was done in, of course, red and purple. It looked so festive. They had even gotten me some more flowers. One of the girls gave me a really cute bear with a red hat, LOL I love it!! We had cake and just celebrated all day long....anything for a party at work, that's what it's all about.
I hope that for all of you women who are reading this that are turning 50 this year, will be as blessed as I was. I have GREAT friends, I have a GREAT family, and most of all, I have a GREAT husband who truly loves me as much as I love him. I thank God each and every day for this man.
OK....so here again, by popular demand, is my Word Of The Moment. Drumrolls please....
2. the quality of adhering to concepts one wishes or believes to be true, rather than the facts
variation of truthfulness, faithfulness, derivational morpheme of "truthy"; archaic and rare or dialectal
The American Dialect Society has crowned "truthiness" its word of the year for 2005, an achievement that makes us think the word of the moment must be "serendipity."
Colbert used the word "truthiness" to describe an impression of truth not necessarily constrained by those pesky little facts, which can just get in the way.The more formal definition, provided by the American Dialect Society: "the quality of stating concepts one wishes or believes to be true, rather than the facts."
This is my 2nd favorite word, next to rambling of course. I love to listen to people talk, read the way write. I guess you can say it's a hobby of mine. I have been doing this for about 25 years now. I'll tell you, you can learn a LOT from just observing a person. They try to hide behind a fake smile, or big long words, but if you just observe them, you can find out who they REALLY are, inside.
Ok..enough with my ramblings for one night.

Ramblings.....that go on and on and on....
This year, being that I am turning 50 on the 22nd, I wanted to do something a bit different, a bit daring, so I thought, "Carol (that's my given birth name), Carol, you need to do something to help others". So I came up with an idea, actually not just an idea, but a REVELATION! I am going to expand not only mine but EVERYONE's vocabulary. And being that this is MY blog, I have decided to do a WORD-A-DAY. Then I got to thinking, "what if I don't get online every day". Actually, I can do it several times a day, or once or twice a week. I don't want to post just a random word, but a word that I have heard or have encountered during the day.
So with this being said, and this being MY blog, (ok, I'm new at this type of thing), and that my blog has caused such an immediate interest in its entirety, I thought I would need to sorta spice it up a bit and make it a bit more 'educational' to read.
Well, I don't know about you, but I don't just sit here and stare at this 19" screen, I like to feel that my time surfing thru cyber space is time well spent. (I guess this inner child of mine longed to be a teacher.) So hence forth from today... I will try to share my new words, maybe not everyday, but when I feel the need.
So today's first word is: ((drumroll please))
(of e.g. speech and writing) tending to depart from the main point or cover a wide range of subjects"a rambling discursive book"; "a rambling speech about this and that"- digressive, discursive, excursive
Of a path e.g."rambling forest paths"- meandering, wandering, windingVerb: ramble rambul
Continue talking or writing in a desultory manner"This novel rambles on and jogs"- ramble on, jog
Move about aimlessly or without any destination, often in search of food or employment- roll, wander, swan, stray, tramp, roam, cast, rove, range, drift, vagabond
See also: indirect
As you can see, I got this word from my own blog - MrsLeftyFixIt and Her Ramblings. I happen to like this word. Rambling. Rambling goes on and on and on and on and never really has a main point. I have also noticed that when one rambles on and on, they tend to omit some key points to their ramblings. Which brings me to an important part of my blog. READ BETWEEN THE LINES, or to put it so that others may understand, READ WHAT IS NOT BEING SAID. Sometimes, that speaks louder than what is actually written.
If some of you that happen to read this, would take the time, and actually 'read' what I am typing, you will find out that I just ramble on and on and on.
Since in the past, my blog has caused a bit of controversy, and my ramblings have gone on and on and on and not to everyone's likings, maybe y'all should just pick and choose which posts you really want to read. It's really simple, you know that thingy that sits on your desk next to your keyboard? I believe most of yours will have a tail, altho, mine is wireless and at times has a mind of it's own. I think if you took that little wheel looking thingy and moved it up and down and up and down and up and down and up and down, (friggin keyboard, as you can tell, it's wireless also and also has a mind of its own) you can bypass some of the posts. See, again, in my up and coming what they call COMING OF AGE, I want to become a bit more mindful of others and their feelings and what might offend and such. ((In other words, what is junk to one person may be a treasure to another.))
And on that note, I will continue to leave my blog available to any and all comments whether anonymous or with a name. After all... last time I checked, this was a free country. Correct me tho if I am wrong. Gotta love a country that re-elects a GREAT President to 4 more years of service.
I really didn't want to keep y'all this long, as I know that you have other blogs that are on your TOP TEN MUST READ list. So I thank you for at least reading this far...and remember.. stay tuned for more educational, mind-expanding words of the day.

What a GREAT trip.....
Hubby and I had a GREAT time celebrating Hollye's birthday. I'm at work Monday morning, and got to thinking, "Hey, she's my BEST friend, she only lives 203.60 miles away, and it's her 50th birthday'. So I called hubby and before I ask him, he asks me if I would like to take Hollye to dinner. AWESOME!! So my day at work passes quickly only because I had emailed Hollye and told her to sit on the sofa with her hands in her lap, and wait patiently. LOL, well, let me tell you, PATIENT is NOT in her vocabulary. She wants to know why, how come, etc.. I just tell her that whatever she has out for dinner, to put it back, that she's going out. After about 22 emails, I think it dawned on her that we were on our way up there. So I hurry home, hubby had already packed, and off we go.
We pull up at the ranch, and out the door she comes, still not believing that we actually drove all the way just for her. Why not? Friends do that, don't they?
Being that it is her 50th, hubby and I decided to give her a pair of cute little diamond earring studs because she is such a 'diamond in the rough'. She is a TRUE gem of a friend too. We also gave her her Red Hat Society hat with a matching Red Hat Society t-shirt. I can hardly wait til I get to wear mine. Only 4 more days....then I can. Woohooooooooo
After she finished opening gifts, we then get into the car and head off to dinner, Red Lobster (gotta keep it in the RED category). There we dined on succulent crab, lobster and shrimp. Looks good, huh?

As we were waiting for dinner to arrive at our table, I snapped this picture of Hollye. I just love that smile of hers...LOL Cracks me up everytime.
Hollye is as good of a friend that anyone could possibly have. We have been friends for about 10 years now. Like I said, she isn't one to ask why or how come, she is the type of friend who will ask, "Where the heck did we go wrong?".

I love you Girl!!!! Have a GREAT DAY!!

What an AWESOME vacation!!!
I'm BACK !!!! Well, actually got back a bit earlier in the week, but I have just been too busy to post anything.
We had an AWESOME time in Laughlin. I met my hubby's sister for the first time. She's just fantastic. We stayed at the Colorado Belle, and just forgot about the outside world. We visited and gambled the days away. On Saturday tho, we did go out to Finger Rock (located in Bullhead City, AZ) to go shooting. People often wonder why they call it Finger Rock. Look at the picture, and you tell me, LOL It's just up past Katherine's Landing on Highway 95. Nice place to go shooting.
We took only 5 of the guns this year, and kept the 4 of us quite busy. Here is a picture of my sister-in-law and my hubby. She did pretty good considering it was her first time ever shooting a gun. I want to do a layout of the day....so I thought I would somehow get in the picture, nice nails, huh? I had them done just for this picture, LOL.
After we spent 3 hours shooting (we took LOTS of ammo with us), we decided to go to Oatman, AZ. It's not too far away from Laughlin, and the day was beautiful, so why not. We went to all the little shops, watched a 'mock' shoot-out in the middle of the street, met some really nice people as we walked up and down the street. I love the fact that there are wild burro's all over the town, and if they happen to go into one of the shop, oh well, they are welcomed. We had bought 7 bags of carrots to feed them. Seems if you have carrots, they will following you to the ends of the earth. The town did have signs up tho informing all not to feed the baby's as they are still nursing and could choke. We all had fun with them. Hubby gave a few bags to some little girls who were just watching, and you should have seen their faces light up. Then I heard my sister-in-law laugh and when I turned around, I got this picture. PRICELESS. Hubby feeding his ass. Gotta love it!! After we ran out of carrots, we thought it be best if we went ahead and go back to the casino for dinner and more gambling.
We get back to the Colorado Belle, and cleaned up and had dinner then off to the blackjack tables. I had never played blackjack in a casino before so hubby showed me how. WOW, much different than playing online! I was having the time of my life. There is this one blackjack table, where if you make a side bet that you will get a 21 with your first 2 cards, you get to spin this wheel. WELL, let me tell you.....I kept betting that little sidebet and got to spin that wheel 9 times. Whatever number it landed on, you got that times your sidebet. One time, I felt a little daring, and placed $3 on the sidebet and hit the 1000, paying me $3,000. Not bad, huh? I noticed after awhile that no one was at the crap table, and never having played that before, I decided to go try my luck. So I took a $5 and 2-$1 chips with me. After about an hour and a half of playing, I walked back to the blackjack to show hubby the payola. We estimated I had 'bout $425. All in all, we came home with just a little over $6,000. Not bad for just taking $1,000 up to play with, huh?
On our way home, hubby said that we would stop in at Calico so that I could see the difference between there and Oatman. What a HUGE difference. Calico is nice, BUT, it's just so (how do I put this) touristy. I loved the ambiance of Oatman.

Ahh...VACATION TIME!!!!
I'm on VACATION!! I'm on VACATION!!
Hubby and I go to Laughlin, NV every January...and always the first weekend. You could call it a 'post-holiday' vacation. We usually go visit my brother-in-law for a day, then it's off to the back country to get in some target practice. I love to go shooting w/my hubby. For Valentine's Day last year, he bought me my own .40cal Beretta. This year, I want a .357 Smith & Wesson revolver. I saw a beauty the other day in the gun shop, made a comment to him, and today, when I went back, it's gone. I hope that's what I get..WOOOHOOOOO
I switched one of my vacation days, so I worked today, and opted to take Monday off!! That way, we can take our time getting home, sleep in, and spend a lot of quality time together. Hubby has worked so much overtime, I barely get time to talk to him. How I cherish my time with him. I honestly feel that if more women devote more time to their husbands instead of their own selfish needs, the divorce rate wouldn't be as high as it is. After all... the husband is the head of the household. But this is just my opinion.
Well, I better finish packing....HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND Y'ALL!!!

NEVER Leave The Poinsetta's For The Hubby To Get.....
HUMP DAY!!! Doesn't feel like it tho...I guess that has to be because I had Monday off. I'm off on Friday also...gonna go to Laughlin, NV. Hubby and I go every year, the first weekend of the year, and off we go. It's like a 'after-the-holidays' vacation.
I do have a confession to make, tho. Can't just lead up to it, so here is the WHOLE story.
I do a lot of entertaining here at home, brunches, teas, dinners, etc.. We were having quite a few people over for a Christmas party, including my best friend, Hollye and her husband. Well, I asked hubby if he could go out and get some poinsetta's so that I could spread them throughout the house to make it more festive looking. It was quite late, so I had asked him if he could like hurry because guests would be arriving and I didn't want to be placing them around while they were here. I wanted everything in its place. OK, not a big deal, or so at the time I thought. Hubby leaves and within 30 minutes, he returns with a vast assortment of poinsetta's. I'm talking deep reds, light pinks, full plants, a few blooms, different sizes of pots. OMG, he did a FANTASTIC job of getting me what I needed. I put them around the house, and waited for our guests. Hollye and her hubby were the first to arrive. I was so happy that she had arrived first. She has a GREAT sense of decorating, and I asked her if she could tell me if everything looked in order. She looked the house over for me, and everything was great. She did tell me tho, that the poinsetta's had looked a little dry and could use some water. I was busy making the last of the appetizer's, so I asked if she wouldn't mind. She grabbed the watering can, and off she went. I heard her laughing, and calling my name...so I put down the veggies, went to see what she was laughing about. She asks where did I get the poinsetta's and I told her that hubby went after them. Then she started to laugh so hard, I thought she was gonna pee her pants. She told me to take a closer look at them. O M G ... I was horrified!!!! Inside every pot was one of them plant stick signs...REST IN PEACE. I yelled for hubby, and when he came into the room, I asked him WHERE did he get the poinsetta's. He grinned, and said, "Honey, don't fret, I got a deal". I said I KNOW, take a look, and pointed to the REST IN PEACE sticks. He looked and said, "Well, ummm they didn't need them. It's not like they could see the plants anyway". I couldn't believe him.. he stole them from the cemetery up the road. Thank goodness Hollye went around and took all them sticks out before guests arrived.

WELCOME 2006 !!!!!!
Well, I made it through another complete year. I must say that the year 2005 has been a GREAT year. I never do New Year's Resolutions, but thought, what the heck, I will do a few this year.
Here are a few resolutions that I want to do:
1. Lose some serious weight. This won't be easy, but I think with determination and the help of family and friends, I can do this.
Hubby bought me one of those neat exercise bikes, complete with monitors for your heart, calories burnt, miles you have ridden, etc.. Dang, this thing even has a water bottle holder and a fan to help cool you down. I have ridden it a few times last year, but I plan on changing that this year by riding it at least 3 times a week.
2. Become more organized not only at work, but here at home too. Here again, hubby is helping me do this by buying me a new scrapping desk with those little compartments for my papers, embellishments, ribbons, and 'stuff'. I need to start filing at work everyday too, or at least let my assistant do it. I just don't have the time, as I am so busy. Gawd, I usually work 10-16 hours a day as it is. I really need to cut down on the overtime.
3. To do more with my friend, Hollye. She is my BESTEST friend ever. Over the years, she has always been there for me. We are both going to be the BIG 5-0 this year, her of course being the older of us. OK, so she's 6 days older, she is still older, LOL. We are gong to become Honorable members of the Red Hat Society. We are both excited about this. Hollye is going to be our chapter's Queen Mum, being the older one I guess has its perks.
4. I want to do at least 2-3 albums this year and COMPLETE them. The one that I am most excited about is doing an album about my 50th year. I want to do at least 12 pages, one for every month about what happened.
I don't want to list a bunch of the resolutions that I would like to accomplish just in case I don't keep them, LOL. I figured, with the ones listed above, those will be easy. Time will tell tho.
Well, tomorrow I am off work, and so is hubby, so we plan on going to the beach to catch a glimpse of the 15' waves the storm is causing. I definitely will bring my camera as they should make an interesting layout.
I want to add a few things to this blog, but to be quite honest, I have no clue how. I want to add a current calendar and a few permanent pictures of hubby and I. Maybe I should make this a resolution...to figure out how to do that.
OK..it's getting a bit late here, and hubby will be home from work in about an hour. I love it when he walks through that door - he still takes my breath away.
